MY BIO

I began studying piano at age 6.  I have played the harp for 35 years.  I worked at the harp seriously, studying with a University professor (she held a Masters degree in harp performance from The Eastman School of Music) from the time that I was a twelve year old beginner.  I have also studied privately with the top jazz harpist in the world, Deborah Henson-Conant in Boston.

I have a degree in harp performance (SMU in Dallas, ’83).  My teacher at SMU, who was the Principal Harpist for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra for 25 years, earned her Masters Degree from the Julliard School of Music.  She had been a protégé of Marcel Grandjany, one of the two greatest harpists and harp composers of the twentieth century.

For over 15 years I played the harp (light classics and pop music) on a daily basis for the elegant Café Capri in Dallas, Texas.

I have performed in many other places around the country. I have also performed in Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia.

I take my career and my professional development seriously. I have regularly over the years participated in numerous harp master classes and workshops, as well as national and international harp conferences.
